BLOW MOULDING

The popularity of thermoplastic containers for products previously marketed in glass is due to the development of blow molding. In heated form, a plastic tube is sealed at one end and then blown up like a balloon inside a split mold with a cooled surface. Once the plastic cools, it become dimensionally stable taking on the shape of the mold.
